DESCRIPTION:First Baptist Church (FBC) of Hillsboro was organized in 1874\, and the 150th anniversary celebration will kick off Saturday night\, October 5\, with a reception at 6 p.m. in the social hall. Dedication of the 150 years monument will follow\, as well as a slideshow and sharing of history.\n\n \n\nThe Sunday\, October 6\, celebration service will include coffee and donuts at 9 a.m. in the social hall\, a joint adult Sunday school class led by former pastor Danny Gilliam at 9:45 a.m.\, and worship service in the church sanctuary at 11 a.m.\, with former pastor Howard Daniel preaching.\n\n \n\nFirst Baptist Church is located at 300 East Franklin Street.\n\n \n\nOver the past 150 years\, the church has endeavored to fulfill its mission of ?Seeking\, Knowing and Showing Jesus.? FBC has stressed the importance of local ministry and Bible teaching since its inception. A full slate of Sunday school classes has been offered since 1905\, including the Young Business Men's Class\, which continues as the Downtown Men?s Class today.
