About Us
Clifton Chamber of Commerce has promoted Clifton’s tourism and economic development since the 1970s when members of Clifton Lions Club decided to form the organization. The chamber has played a major role in Clifton’s growth, working diligently to bring a first-class motel to the city, promoting tourism, providing planned tours, and offering luncheons at some of the city’s restaurants, tea rooms, and coffee shops while leaving time for some shopping.
Chamber-sponsored events such as the Norwegian Country Christmas Tour and authentic Norwegian luncheon bring thousands of tourists each year to Clifton and the surrounding area. The Chamber sponsors the Annual Bosque Tour de Norway bike rally which brought in over 650 riders from all over the state of Texas in 2021. Some of the other chamber activities include the Big Buck contest for hunters who visit the area, the Clifton Rodeo in June during the Central Texas Youth fair along with sponsoring the Rodeo Parade and Lighted Christmas Parade.
The Chamber is in many ways the front door to Clifton and is proud to be the clearinghouse for visitors wanting to know more about the city. Clifton has also just been named as only one of eleven Certified Retirement Communities in the State of Texas. This designation was based on demographics, education, medical facilities, recreation and more. Clifton was designated last year one of 48 Texas Cultural Arts Districts by the Texas Commission on the Arts.
