Named Citizen of the Year by the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce

Demari Brooks celebrated his 6th birthday on February 17th, 2022 and has already become an inspiration to many. In 2021, he learned a valuable lesson in obedience that resulted in his decision to give back. With the help of his uncle, Demari created a lemonade stand that was able to help purchase school supplies and other items, raising $1,300 to give back to children in need. Demari went on to donate water to the schools, sold hot chocolate and Santa cookies to raise money for children in need, including a full box of toys given to CPS. Demari plans to keep helping kids throughout Hillsboro, Itasca and Waxahachie.

These and many other selfless acts are why the Hillsboro Chamber recognized Demari Brooks as the Hillsboro Citizen of the Year in March of 2022 at the annual Chamber banquet
