Burning Slow Reggae Band - Free Concert in Downtown Hillsboro

Get ready for a night of laid-back rhythm, Texas energy, and live music that feels like summer. This is a free outdoor concert on Saturday night June 27th 2026 from 8-11 pm in downtown Hillsboro, Texas, and will be the last free outdoor concert at The Yard, until we return in September.

Burning Slow, a reggae rock band from the Dallas/Waxahachie area, brings a sound that blends smooth reggae grooves, alt-rock grit, strong vocals, and a live-show energy that keeps the crowd moving. Formed in 2011, the band has built a loyal following across Texas with music that feels relaxed, soulful, and high-energy all at once. Burning Slow has played major regional festivals including Dallas Reggae Fest, Deep Ellum Arts Festival, SXSW/SXSWhat! and more, and has shared stages with artists including The Wailers, Sublime with Rome, Kash’d Out, Passafire, Bumpin Uglies, Mike Pinto, Pacific Dub, and others. Waxahachie’s recent festival reviews describe their music as laid-back reggae rhythms mixed with alt-rock grit, with sharp musicianship and a raw live presence.

Visiting the YARD for concerts:

Picnic Tables are available for seating - first come, first serve
You may bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets and coolers and enjoy the show from the lawn. Coolers / BYOB is only on the lawn areas please.

The outdoor concerts are subject to weather, and are family friendly and safe occasions with both responsible adults and children in attendance. There is a regular food truck in the outdoor space, and numerous bars and restaurants in walkable proximity for drinks, food, and restroom breaks.   In general we encourage visitors to support the walkable businesses to purchase food and drinks, but modest coolers are permitted to be brought on site for those that are able to responsibly enjoy and maintain the family friendly & safe atmosphere, and stay on the lawn with BYOB coolers and beverages.
