Executive Director Hillsboro Area Chamber of Commerce
The Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce is seeking a community-focused Executive Director to lead economic growth, coordinate local events, and serve as the primary spokesperson. You will collaborate with local businesses, civic leaders, and the Board of Directors to increase membership and enhance the quality of life in Hillsboro, Texas.
Responsibilities
● Leadership: Supervise, guide, and manage Chamber employees and volunteers.
● Community Relationship Building: Build strong relationships with local businesses, elected officials, schools, civic organizations, and community partners.
● Membership Growth: Recruit, retain, and engage Chamber members.
● Event Coordination: Coordinate Chamber events, programs, and networking opportunities.
● Spokesperson: Serve as the primary representative and spokesperson for the Chamber. Also able to demonstrate discretion when handling confidential or sensitive matters.
● Funding: Secure sponsorships, fundraising support, and community partnerships.
● Marketing: Promote the Chamber and its members through social media, local marketing, and community outreach.
● Digital Management: Maintain the Chamber website and ensure business listings and information are accurate and easy to find online.
● Governance: Work with the Board of Directors to implement goals and priorities.
Qualifications
● Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent leadership experience.
● Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of leadership, nonprofit management, business development, or Chamber/economic development experience preferred.
● Communication: Strong public speaking, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
● Financial Background: Experience preparing budgets and managing financial resources.
● Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM/member management software, QuickBooks (or similar accounting software), social media, and website management.
● Execution: Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and collaborate with community stakeholders.
● Professionalism: Professionalism, maturity, sound judgment, and a positive attitude.
